Rehabilitation Therapy
What is rehabilitation therapy, and how can it help my pet?
Rehabilitation therapy employs multiple techniques to addresses orthopedic injuries, neurologic dysfunction, chronic arthritic conditions, aging issues and performance difficulties. In pets, rehab therapy is employed most frequently after major orthopedic or neurologic surgery (cranial cruciate ligament surgery, TPLO, fracture repair, IVDD, etc)
The goal of physical rehabilitation is to maximize function by promoting a rapid recovery after injury or surgery, slowing down the progression of chronic diseases, or training for peak performance. Dr. Lynn performs a thorough examination, then creates a treatment plan that is individualized for each pet based on their specific needs and the owner’s goals.
Body conditioning
We also offer exercise and conditioning recommendations for patients that are overweight or suffering from arthritis.
Rehabilitation therapy
Rehabilitation therapy often involves exercises being performed at home by the owners between appointments, and it is often used in conjunction with acupuncture therapy or other Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine treatment strategies.
